Africa
High pressure will extend inland from the Atlantic Ocean to cover Sahara, Morocco, and Algeria. Fine weather will dominate the whole of northern Africa. To the south, thunderstorms will be prevalent over southern Mauritania, Senegal, Central
African Republic, Chad, and southern Sudan. Other regions of the south will be very quiet with high pressure in place over eastern South Africa. Highs will reach 20 in Harare with variable cloudiness, 22 in Port Elizabeth with lots of sun, and 35 in Khartoum with partly sunny skies and the risk for a thunderstorm.
Asia
Conditions will be very quiet across much of northern and central Asia with a few showers confined to the southern Mongolia and China border. Farther south, a band of 5 to10 mm rainfall will stretch from South Korea and southern Japan southwest across coastal, central China to southern China. Some of the rain will also affect Taiwan. Thunderstorms will dot the far south of the Philippines with lesser showers indicated for northern portion of the country and for parts of Cambodia, southern Burma, and Thailand. Temperatures will be mild over Mongolia and far northern Japan and quite warm for all locations to the south. Highs will reach 28 in Pyongyang with partial sunshine and the risk for a shower, 30 in Taipei with showers likely, and 32 in Manila with variable cloudiness and a few scattered showers.
Australia and New Zealand
A wave of low pressure will be hovering off the coast of southern Australia with high pressure positioned off the southeastern coastline. This combination will lead to showery conditions over much of Victoria and southern New South Wales. Temperatures will be seasonably mild. Readings will be much cooler to the west with a strong onshore windflow over southwestern Australia. A few showers will dot the immediate southern coastline there as a result. Temperatures will remain quite warm over the north of the country with plenty of sunshine. Fair, cool weather will cover all of New Zealand with high pressure drifting east toward the country. Highs will reach 14 in Auckland with mostly sunny skies, 17 in Perth with thickening clouds, and 31 in Darwin with mostly sunny skies.
Europe
An upper-level ridge will be sprawled over the British Isles with a few showers possible in onshore winds over Ireland. To the north, scattered showers are expected over some northern regions of Norway and Sweden. A small wave of low pressure will be positioned over Latvia with 10 to 20 mm showers and thunderstorms expected there and over adjacent regions of Estonia, Lithuania, and far northern Poland. A trough will produce some minor showers over northeastern France. Showers are also possible over central Spain, eastern Ukraine, and the western Black Sea. Temperatures will be very warm over European Russia and mild for all points to the west with the exception of Spain and Portugal. Highs will reach 18 in Dublin with showers likely, 28 in Barcelona with mostly sunny skies, and also 28 in Athens with lots of sun.
Middle East
Patchy 5 to 15 mm showers and thunderstorms will cover many central and eastern regions of Pakistan. To the west, a trough will produce a few showers along the Oman and Yemen border. Areas of the north and to the west will experience fine conditions with a ridge of high pressure stretching from central Iraq south to eastern Saudi Arabia. Some extra cloudiness is indicated for the Jordan and Syria border with a weak trough in place. Temperatures will remain warm to hot over all regions. Highs will reach 33 in Karachi with variable cloudiness and showers, 35 in Jeddah with a mix of sun and clouds, and 38 in Dubai with partial sunshine.
South America
Surface high pressure will be positioned over far southern Brazil with a few showers expected there, the result of onshore winds. A ridge of high pressure will extend inland from the Atlantic Ocean to the central regions of Brazil and northern Bolivia. Fine conditions will dominate the rest of Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and the northern half of both Chile and Argentina. Over the northwest, scattered thunderstorms are expected over southern Venezuela, coastal Columbia, far northern Peru, and Ecuador. Cool, unsettled weather will govern the southern fringe of both Argentina and Chile. Highs will reach 15 in La Paz with variable cloudiness, 20 in Bogota with clouds, sun, and the risk for a brief shower, and 27 in Salvador with a mix of sun and clouds along with the chance for a brief shower.
U.S. and Southern Canada:
United States and Canada: A ridge of high pressure will extend from Florida northwest to Arkansas. Fine, warm to hot weather will govern most southeastern and southern portions of the United States although there could be a few scattered showers over the Carolinas and Louisiana. To the north, showers and a few thunderstorms are indicated along the northern fringe of this hot air, generally from South Dakota east across southern Minnesota to parts of Wisconsin and Illinois. Monsoonal showers will continue over southern Arizona and southern New Mexico. A trough will induce 10 to 15 mm rainfalls over Utah, Idaho, and eastern Oregon. Conditions will be fine across all of Canada along with mild temperatures. Mild air will also cover the northern tier of the United States with warm to hot temperatures farther south. Highs will reach 25 in Montreal with mostly sunny skies, 28 in Los Angeles with sunny skies, and 32 in Atlanta with a mix of sun and clouds and the risk for a thunderstorm.
