Africa
Another in a series of upper-level troughs will be moving onshore over northwestern Africa. This setup will result in some light rain over Morocco, Western Sahara, and northwestern Algeria. To the south, showers and thunderstorms will begin to blossom from Ivory Coast east of Nigeria and Cameroon. Showers and thunderstorms are also expected along the Angola and Zambia border and over some eastern sections of Madagascar. Apart from a few minor showers over southern Mozambique, all other regions of the continent will be quiet with lots of sun. Highs will reach 24 in Nairobi with a mix of sun and clouds, 27 in Dakar with full sunshine, and 28 in Port Elizabeth with mostly sunny conditions.
Asia
The extremely quiet Asian weather pattern will continue with fair skies expected over the whole of China, South Korea, southern Japan, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. A trough will be positioned over eastern Manchuria with some light snow expected there. A few rain and inland snow showers will dot the central and northern regions of Japan. Some rain and snow shower activity is also slated for far western Mongolia. Over the south, a few showers will dot the Philippines and Singapore. Temperatures will be cold only over northern Mongolia, Manchuria, and the far north of Japan. Highs will reach 12 in Yokohama with a mix of sun and clouds, 15 in Beijing with fair skies, and 34 in Bangkok with lots of sun.
Australia and New Zealand
A massive area of surface high pressure will be positioned over Tasmania and this setup will result in an onshore wind of somewhat cooler air over southern and southeastern portions of Australia. A few showers are possible for points along the eastern coastline from Brisbane to the north. Scattered showers are also indicated from Darwin east across the Gulf of Carpinteria to the Cape York Peninsula. Other regions of Australia will be quiet. Temperatures will be mild to warm over South Australia, Victoria, and most of New South Wales. Warm to hot temperatures will continue to blanket areas to the north and to the west. A powerful cold front will be pushing north across central New Zealand with some of the coolest air of the new season expected over the South Island. Areas of rain and even some higher elevation snow are possible over the far south of the country. Fair, mild weather will govern the North Island. Highs will reach 11 in Wellington with variable cloudiness a few showers, 29 in Melbourne with mostly sunny skies, and 36 in Port Hedland with lots of sun.
Europe
A wave of low pressure will be positioned over the northern Baltic Sea with 5 cm snowfalls expected there and over adjacent portions of northern Sweden and central Finland. Other regions of Scandinavia and northern Europe will be quiet with the temperatures still quite cold. To the south, a trough will produce some snow shower activity over the northern Black Sea and over adjacent portions of southern Ukraine. A more important system will be positioned over the Iberian Peninsula with 10 to 15 mm rainfalls expected over much of Spain and France. Mild air will be confined to Portugal, southern Spain, and Turkey. Highs will reach -10 in Helsinki with variable cloudiness and a few minor snow showers, 11 in Venice with a mix of clouds and sun with the chance for a shower, and 17 in Lisbon with some rain likely.
Middle East
Conditions will be very quiet across most of the Middle East with no significant weather systems on the map. Some minor rain showers will continue over far eastern sections of Pakistan. Showers and a few thunderstorms are indicated for the far northeast of Turkey. All other areas will feature full sunshine. Temperatures will continue to slowly warm with the leading edge of the warmer air pushing north from the Arabian Peninsula as far north as central Iraq and central Iran. Highs will reach 24 in Damascus with a mix of sun and clouds, 25 in Islamabad with variable cloudiness, and 30 in Abu Dhabi with sunshine in abundance.
South America
A powerful trough will be in place over southern Argentina and southern Chile with a swath of 5 to 15 mm rainfall expected along the eastern coastline of central Argentina. Some minor shower activity will extend from there northwest to the Bolivia border. To the north, skies will be mostly sunny over Bolivia, southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and southern Peru. A wave of low pressure we positioned over northeastern Brazil with showers and thunderstorms expected from Salvador inland to the west a bit. Showers and thunderstorms with 10 to 20 mm rainfalls will affect coastal Colombia, Ecuador, and much of northern Peru. Temperatures will be mild to warm across the entire continent. Highs will reach 24 in Lima with a mix of sun and clouds, 27 in Montevideo with mostly sunny skies, and 28 in Caracas with full sunshine.
U.S. and Southern Canada:
United States and Canada: An upper-level trough will be positioned over the central Appalachian Mountains and this setup will result in a broad zone of light rain from Tennessee and Kentucky northeast across West Virginia and Ohio to Pennsylvania and parts of New York State and southern New England. A storm system will be positioned to the east of the state of Florida over the open waters of the Atlantic Ocean. This system will continue to migrate to the east and should not be a threat to land. To the west, some minor rain and snow showers are indicated for portions of Missouri and eastern Kansas. High pressure will be dominant over the Rocky Mountain region with fair skies expected. Temperatures will be considerably colder from northern Texas north to the Dakotas. A wave of low pressure will be located over British Columbia with the wind-driven areas of rain and interior snow expected over British Columbia, Washington State, Oregon, and northern Idaho. Highs will reach 3 in Chicago with a few rain and wet snow showers, 4 in Halifax with partly sunny skies, and 16 in Dallas where it will be breezy with a mix of sun and clouds.
