Future Bloc: Lebanese state must stop Hezbollah's activities

MP Ammar Houry said on Tuesday that Hezbollah General Secretary Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's latest speech "destroyed the Lebanese people's hope for calm in the country."

MP Houry's statement came following the Future bloc's weekly meeting whereby the bloc praised President Michel Sleiman's stances over submitting a note to U.N. Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly on Syria's violation against the country, mainly since Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Adnan Mansour "refused to carry out his job."

The bloc also urged the Lebanese people to support President Sleiman as "he represents the head of the Lebanese state."

The bloc offered condolences to the families of the four victims killed in the Baalbek region Sunday, urging the security apparatus to arrest the perpetrators of the crime.

On the Gulf Cooperation Council's decision (GCC), MP Houry said that such measures are adopted against Hezbollah's members as a result of the party's latest activities in Syria.

As for the events taking place in Syria, MP Houry called for wisdom and calm amid "this critical stage, urging the Lebanese people to avoid any clashes that would entail heavy losses on the country."
