Mansour says Syrian refugees constitute a heavy burden on Lebanon

Caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour stressed on Saturday that he asked the European Union to reconsider the decision to put Hezbollah on the EU list of terrorist organizations, noting that “it could lead to political crises on the Lebanese scene”.

In this regard, Mansour said "the EU decision will take a toll on the Lebanese-European relations," pointing out that several EU countries are working to blacklist Hezbollah, adding however that this effort is bound to falter due to discrepancies among them.

Separately, Mansour ruled out the formation of a new government throughout the current circumstances, citing preconditions as the reason behind it.

On the Syrian file, Mansour pointed out that the Syrian refugees constitute a heavy burden on the Lebanese state's economy, calling for an international conference on Lebanon in order to address this issue.
