Rocket attack on UAE embassy in Tripoli

An armed group attacked the embassy building of the United Arab Emirates in the Libyan capital Tripoli on Thursday, according to an eyewitness.

"At 6:00 a.m. (0400 GMT) a car with three people in it drove by the end of this street and, of course I live in here, the attack was on the corner of the street. He pulled out a rocket and launched it towards the embassy as you can see," said local resident Khaled Alzintany.

A large hole, caused by the rocket, could be seen in the wall of the building.

There were no reports of injuries.

Police were at the scene, but there was no further information available about the attack.
