Argentina names ambassador to Britain
The president of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner appointed a new ambassador to Britain on Thursday to fill a post left vacant since 2008.       

The appointment comes at a time of rising tensions between Argentina and Britain after Mercosur nations voted in December to stop any vessels bearing the Falklands' flag from entering their ports.
