Energy issue at core of work meeting between Sabounjian and Frem
A work meeting was held between Industry Ministry Vrej Sabounjian, President of the Association of Lebanese Industrialists Neemat Frem and members of the Administrative Board to discuss the issue of energy, retrieve the VAT on industrial exports and establish a scientific cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and the industrial sector based on the supply-demand equation.       

The participants discussed skyrocketing energy prices, mainly diesel oil and gasoline, and the delay in the industrial exporters’ retrieval of the VAT from the Ministry of Finance; imposing burdens they cannot handle.           

The Minister of Industry promised to submit all of these concerns to the cabinet given the industry sector is very important and should be given as much attention as that of services and tourism.
