Rai calls on leaders to overcome “petty differences”
Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai voiced rejection on Wednesday to all the political acts that disrespect the dignity and fate of the people and the opinion of others.   

During the Tuesday Mass celebrated at the Hadath Notre Dame church, Rai said that the Middle East is in need for new moral and human values, as well as a democracy that respects the opinions and aspirations of the people.   

Rai urged the Lebanese leaders to overcome their “petty differences” and assume responsibilities in order to confront the threat posed to the Lebanese people’s lives.   

In his concluding remarks, Rai expressed appreciation for the Hadath residents who refuse to sell their lands despite temptations.
