Pietton: Lebanon needs to disassociate itself from Syrian events

French Ambassador in Lebanon Denis Pietton described the stance of the Head of the Kataeb party Amin Gemayel that Lebanon needs to distance itself from the Syrian repercussions as a logical stance.

“France condemns the oppression in Syria and considers that this is the best stance that Lebanon can take”, Pietton said on Wednesday.  

Following his meeting with Gemayel, Pietton said that it is very important for Lebanon not to import external disputes.
