Lebanon moves ahead despite 4-2 loss to UAE
The decisive match ended its first half tied at two goals between the UAE and Lebanon in the third round match of the Asian qualifiers for the 2014 Brazil World Cup on Wednesday. UAE pulled an early lead with Saeed placing a goal at the 20 minute mark.

Lebanon responded only four minutes later, tying the match at 1. Al-Wahaibi landed UAE’s second goal of the match but was quickly echoed by Maatouk in the white Lebanese jersey, closing the first half tied at 2 all.

In the second half, the UAE scored two goals bringing the score to 4-2 and winning the game. Despite the loss incurred by the Lebanese national football team, Lebanon qualified for the final round of the 2014 World Cup Asia regional qualifiers.
