Afghanistan, U.S. to sign prison transfer deal
An agreement on the transfer of U.S.-run detention centers to Afghan authorities is expected to be signed on Friday, two Afghan officials said, improving the prospects of a strategic partnership deal allowing for long-term U.S. involvement in the country.    

The officials said a memorandum of understanding would be signed at the foreign ministry.
