Army’s former Commando Regiment Chief Roukoz: I have been promoted to rank of citizen
The Lebanese Army’s former Commando Regiment leader Brigadier General Chamel Roukoz participated on Thursday in a rally organized to honor his retirement at Beirut's Martyrs Square.

“I'm Chamel Roukoz, an army commando officer who was promoted hours ago to the rank of 'citizen',” Roukoz said in a speech he delivered during the rally.

Roukoz will be succeeded by Colonel Maroun al-Qobayati, who was the regiment’s deputy chief and its First Brigade Commander.
