Change and Reform bloc: FPM ministers will attend any cabinet session dedicated to waste management crisis
Former Minister Salim Jreissati said on Tuesday that the Change and Reform bloc ministers will attend any cabinet session dedicated to discuss the waste management crisis.

Lebanon has been suffering from a waste management crisis since July with the closure of the Naameh landfill.

Jreissati’s comments were made following the bloc’s weekly meeting whereby he noted that when the institutions fail to play their role, “people become the alternative and the source of authorities.”

As for the presidential elections, he noted that the participants in the meeting agreed that the new president must enjoy a popular base.

“The resort to the Constitution does not always help in finding efficient solutions and the solution would be resorting to the people,” he added.

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum after the mandate of President Michel Sleiman ended on May 25 with rival political blocs still divided over a new leader.
