Nasrallah says Israel behind Qantar’s assassination, vows retaliation
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Monday that Samir Qantar was killed by an Israeli air strike on a residential building in Syria's district of Jaramana.

"We have no doubt or question that Israel is the one which assassinated Samir Qantar, its planes fired precise missiles on an apartment (he was in)," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said in a speech aired on the party’s TV channel al-Manar.

Hezbollah leader pointed out that reports stating that the Syrian armed groups are behind Qantar’s assassination “are far from being true.”

He added that Hezbollah has the right to respond to Qantar’s killing in the place, time and method that it sees fit, stressing that it will exercise this right.

Commenting on US sanctions imposed on banks dealing with Hezbollah, Nasrallah explained that the Shiite party does not have funds in Lebanese banks or anywhere in the world.

“We spend our money on our Resistance, the families of our martyrs and our wounded fighters, we do not have one penny for trading or to keep it in a bank,” he said.

In this context, he urged the Lebanese government to assume its responsibility in protecting the Lebanese citizens, traders and their money.

"The US accused Hezbollah of being a criminal organization involved in drug dealing, money laundering and human trafficking," he stated, stressing that these claims are unfair and untrue, and they aim only at tarnishing Hezbollah’s image in the region and the world.
