REPORT: Renewed passports no longer accepted in Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Australia – General Security

The head of the passports department at the General Security, Major Ali Termos stressed Friday that Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Australia notified the Lebanese authorities that the renewed passports will no longer be accepted.

During a press conference, Termos noted that the issuance of new passports does not conflict with the biometric passports that will be soon available, stressing that the new passports will remain valid.

Termos added that those affected by the decision (holders of renewed passports) cannot be compensated, since the matter requires a law to be passed by the Parliament.
