REPORT: Lebanon rejects Arab League statement accusing Hezbollah over alleged interference in Bahrain
Arab League foreign ministers agreed at an emergency meeting in Cairo on Sunday to condemn the attacks on Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran and accused the Tehran government of failing to protect them.

In a closing statement distributed after the meeting, the Arab League also voiced its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

The Arab League also condemned the reported discovery by Bahrain of a "terror" group that it said was backed by Iran's Revolutionary Guards.

All members of the Arab League voted in favor of the statement, with the exception of Lebanon.

For his part, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil voiced Lebanon's rejection of the Arab League statement condemning Hezbollah over alleged meddling in Bahrain.

“This Lebanese stance is grounded on Lebanon's interest in conserving the region's stability and unity,” Bassil said from Cairo.

“We are here to voice solidarity with Saudi Arabia against the attacks on its diplomatic missions that took place in Iran and we rejected a statement linking Hezbollah to acts of terror,” the minister told reporters after the meeting.

Bahrain declared on Wednesday that it had dismantled a “terror” cell linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard and Lebanon's Hezbollah.

The cell was reportedly planning to carry out a "series of dangerous bombings" in the kingdom, a Bahraini interior ministry statement said.

Demonstrators in Tehran stormed the Saudi embassy and a Saudi consulate after Saudi Arabia executed a well-known Shiite cleric and opposition leader Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr earlier this month.
