REPORT: General strike in Sidon’s camps, closure of UNRWA’s institutions
Refugees declared Thursday a general strike in Ain Al Hilweh  and Mieh Mieh  refugee camps, as well as the city of Sidon; protesting against UN’s decision to cut health services, thereby threatening patients’ lives.

The strike was held upon the call of national and Islamic forces in Lebanon, along with popular committees and civil and institutional movements.

The strike included the closure of all UNRWA’s  institutions in Ain Al Hilweh Camp, starting with UNRWAs Director’s Office, health clinics and schools; as a protest is to be organized later today, in front of the Director’s office.

UNRWA’s schools were also shut down in the city of Sidon.
