The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces issued Friday a statement whereby it announced that a Lebanese national, identified by his initials as D.S., was arrested for his alleged involvement in the twin blasts that rocked Beirut’s Bourj al-Barajneh in November.
During the investigations, the suspect confessed that he was buying and selling explosives and accessories.
He also admitted that he delivered an amount of explosives and detonators, which were used during Bourj al-Barajneh bombings, to a terrorist who was previously arrested by the security forces.
Following the investigations, the detainee was referred to the competent judiciary.
On November 12, a double suicide attack hit a busy area in Beirut’s southern suburb, killing at least 46 people and wounding over 200 others.
The attack was claimed by the Islamic State.
