REPORT: Civil society activists stage symbolic protest outside Karantina waste sorting plant

Civil society activists staged a symbolic protest on Saturday outside the Karantina waste sorting plant, calling for reopening the plant and resuming its work.

The activists have resumed their movements to voice rejection to the waste deportation plan.

Lebanon has been grappling with a waste crisis following the July 17 closure of the Naameh landfill. This has led to the piling up of garbage on the streets of the capital and other areas.
