REPORT: Kanaan calls for including all political parties in agreement over presidency
Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan paid on Friday a visit to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea in Maarab, dispatched by the bloc’s head MP Michel Aoun.
The meeting between both men was attended by LF media official Melhem Riachi.

Kanaan called for the expansion of the agreement on presidency, to include all political parties.

”We are waiting for a Christian correspondence as an introduction to a national one, we viewed the agreement made on the 18th of January as a political agreement not a sectarian one, because the Free Patriotic Movement and Lebanese Forces agreed on politics”, he explained.

On Monday, Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea announced his party’s adoption of General Michel Aoun’s nomination for the presidency after a long time of deep thought and deliberations.

Geagea pointed out that the LF was really keen on completing the elections on time, calling upon March 14 forces to adopt Aoun’s nomination for the presidential elections.

Lebanon has been without a head of state since the term of former President Michel Sleiman ended in May 2014 with rival political blocs still divided over a new leader.
