Prime Minister Tammam Salam stressed that the root of the conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia is the Iranian intervention in the Arab World’s affairs that has been ongoing for years and has been complicating all the matters.
During a seminar in Davos with Iraqi Prime Minister Haydar al-Abadi held within the framework of the forum on World Economy in Davos, Salam noted that Russia and the United States are deploying efforts in order to reach a solution for the regional conflicts, pointing out that these efforts are necessary and have to be sustained.
In this context, PM Salam voiced concerned over the sectarian issues in the region, whether between the Christians and Muslims or between Sunnis and Shiites, hoping that the people will manage to overcome these issues in order to maintain peaceful coexistence.
He also called for supporting the moderation approach to fight extremism in the region, stressing the need to find a solution for the Palestinian cause so that the Palestinians will be granted their legitimate rights.
