Member of Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan told LBCI’s “Nharkom Said” TV show, that the agreement between the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces is neither a March 8 nor 14 project but a Christian-Christian project for a complete national one.
“The agreement will not be at the expense of any Christian and is not an electoral alliance but may evolve into one,” he added.
Kanaan also pointed out that the Christian-Christian dispute has become unacceptable and the agreement held in Maarab will benefit all Lebanese.
The deputy considered that “some of the criticism against the FPM and LF agreement is a result of lots of the false foundations previously adopted.”
On Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil’s positions at the Arab League, Kanaan asserted that Bassil’s stance came from the ministerial statement and coordination with the Prime Minister.
Kanaan also discussed the appointments of the Military Council, revealing that continuous communications are still taking place to hold a cabinet session to approve the appointments, “but the issue is still subject to consultations” he added.
