Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea responded Monday to Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri’s remarks concerning the fact that Hezbollah’s allies are not forced to adopt the candidacy of Change and Reform bloc chief MP Michel Aoun.
Berri was asked by his visitors about a recent comment made by Geagea that the ball now is in the court of Hezbollah and that its allies should vote for Aoun if there were genuine intentions to back the latter.
“Do they think that Hezbollah will put a gun, a rifle or a rocket in the head of Sleiman Franjieh and Nabih Berri to elect a certain candidate?” Berri asked.
Consequently Geagea replied in a tweet asking “on what grounds Michel Aoun is the candidate of the March 8 camp?"
Berri was quick to say, “on the same basis of your nomination by the March 14 alliance.”
