Minister Rifi: Military Court officers are not part of Justice Ministry
Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi said Friday that "the officers appointed to the Military Court are not by any means part of the Justice Ministry, but the cadre of the Defense Ministry and are appointed by its minister."

Rifi’s statement came in reply to a report aired by Al-Jadeed TV on Thursday, suggesting that there is a family relationship between two members of the Military Court of Cassation, which has issued a decision to release former Minister Michel Samaha. Accordingly,

Rifi phoned the Public Prosecutor Judge Samir Hammoud asking him to verify the validity of the information, so that the necessary legal procedures will be taken if it was proven to be true.
