REPORT: Civil Defense volunteers celebrate their full time employment

Civil Defense volunteers celebrated on Wednesday the cabinet’s approval to turn them to full-time employees at Beirut’s Martyrs Square.

 

The volunteers voiced their appreciation to “all those who collaborated in ratifying the decree to grant full tenure, mainly Interior Minister Nouhad Mashnouq.”

 

Earlier, ministers approved a decree to grant Civil Defense volunteers full time employment, as they convened to discuss several issues.

 

Civil Defense volunteers have held protests and sit-ins since last September in the Martyrs' Square, demanding the Cabinet to approve decrees to make them full-time employees after the law was passed in Parliament in April 2014.
