REPORT: Finance Minister Khalil says Lebanon committed to international laws in fight against terrorism
Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil stressed on Friday that the country's banking sector proved to the world that Lebanon is committed to international laws in the fight against terrorism and money laundering.

“Despite the expanding economic crisis that hindered the work of the constitutional institutions in Lebanon, starting with the election of a new president, we have been able to put Lebanon's interest as a priority which allowed the country and its banking sector to address international bodies and prove to them that Lebanon is committed to international laws in their fight against terrorism and money laundering,” Khalil said during the opening of the Banking Forum held at BIEL.

“We are largely involved in organizing our legislature and the mobilization of our legal, political and security incomes in order to continue the battle against terrorism,” he noted.

“We are witnessing difficult economic periods. The situation needs reforms to preserve the financial stability and balance,” he added.
