Minister of Defense Moqbel from Bkerke: Lebanese army “is doing fine”

Minister of Defense Samir Moqbel said on Friday that the military institution “is doing fine”, adding that the Lebanese army is well equipped on the borders.

 

Moqbel’s comments were made following his meeting with Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rai in Bkerke.

He noted that the meeting featured high on the tensed political situation in the country on the presidential elections level, adding that the country cannot remain without a president.

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since the mandate of president Michel Sleiman ended in May 2014 without the election of a successor.
