REPORT: PM Salam gives Chinook Company 48-hour deadline

The Parliamentary Environment Committee recommended that the issue of the waste deportation contract must be finalized within the upcoming 24 hours, while Agriculture Minister Akram Chehayeb told LBCI that he spoke with Prime Minister Tammam Salam, noting that he is awaiting the official approvals for the contract signing.

For his part, Development and Liberation Parliamentary bloc member, MP Kassem Hashem, confirmed that Chehayyeb told him that the documents related to the waste exportation are not forged.

“The upcoming hours are decisive,” he stated.

In the same context, sources told LBCI that PM Salam gave the British Chinook Urban Mining a 48-hour deadline to submit an official document signed by the Russian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Environment, as well as the Lebanese embassy in Moscow.
