Hariri urges Saudi king not to abandon Lebanon
Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri urged Monday Saudi Arabia not to abandon Lebanon, after Riyadh suspended a $3 billion aid package to the Lebanese army last week.

Hariri called on King Salman "not to forget Lebanon and to continue to support and embrace it."

“We are here to say with the loudest voice that we will echo any insult addressed to Saudi Arabia or the Arab Gulf countries to its owners. We are here to assure at the loudest voice that no one can abolish the Arabness of Lebanon, and that Lebanese state posts and governmental institutions are not reserves for Iranian politics in the region,” the former PM said in a press conference held at Beit al-Wasat.

Hariri added that the rogue voices attacking the kingdom do not represent the Lebanese people.

During a talk with journalists, Hariri said that Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi is a friend and his resignation from Cabinet concerns him solely.

“We must be cautious in our steps in order to preserve the government,” he added.

At the end of the conference, the conferees signed a petition of loyalty to Arab countries.
