Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwaji stressed that the army is now stronger than ever, noting that the security situation at the borders and within the Lebanese territories is under control.
In this context, he denied all malicious rumors that emerge between now and then, concerning the possibility of Lebanon’s destabilization or any sectarian strife that may lead the country into the abyss.
During a ceremony held to sign a cooperation agreement between the army and the Lebanese University, Kahwaji said that “the army has made a firm decision to prevent the regional ball of fire from reaching Lebanon,” adding that they will strike with an iron fist in case of any attempt aiming at inciting chaos and division, or affecting coexistence and national unity.
The commander also stated that the army is at the highest levels of alert at all fronts to fight terrorist attacks on the borders as well as defend the country in the face of Israel and its plans and impose security and stability inside Lebanon.
