REPORT: Minister Harb vows to protect Lebanese people’s rights

Telecommunications Minister Boutros Harb declared that the ministry’s competent technical teams detected technical equipment and IT systems at different locations on Lebanon’s mountain peaks operating without authorization, noting that the illegitimate internet providers have been providing official headquarters with internet services often free of charge.

During a press conference, the minister revealed that some of those who committed these crimes were involved in the Barouk station scandal collaborating with Israel.

In this context, Harb stressed that no authorized Lebanese or foreign private companies are allowed to run cross international communications, pointing out that investigations in this regard are ongoing to uncover any over illegal station.

Minister Harb condemned any attempt to violate Lebanon’s sovereignty and national security, slamming any attacks targeting the Lebanese people’s right to privacy, stressing that these crimes will not go unpunished.
