Lebanon’s Interior and Municipalities Minister Nouhad al-Mashnouq was received Thursday as a guest at “the Royal Institute of International Affairs – Chatham House” in London, where he stressed that “Lebanon was one of the first states to conduct preemptive operations to fight against terrorism,” noting that the federal ideology proposed by some groups will not solve the problems, but on the contrary it will cause indefinite violence and wars.
In this context, al-Mashnouq called for protecting the Middle East region from all forms of extremism and separation, recalling that Iran and Hezbollah are obstructing the elections of a new president in Lebanon.
On another note, the minister denied any intention to resettle the Syrian refugees, pointing out that the municipal elections will be held as scheduled.
