REPORT: LAF receives 3 Huey II choppers from United States
The Lebanese army received on Thursday three helicopters from the United States to help strengthening the army's abilities to fend off threats along the borders.
 
The army received the Huey II choppers which are worth $26 million during a ceremony at the Beirut Air Base in the presence of interim US Charge D’ Affaires Richard Jones.
 
"Today's delivery demonstrates America's continued commitment to guarantee the Lebanese Armed Forces has the essential needs to be the sole defender of the Lebanese territory,” Jones said during the ceremony.
 
With the addition of these three choppers, the Lebanese army now has nine Huey II multi-mission helicopters provided by the US.
 
Jones also reiterated that the US-Lebanese military ties between “are stronger than ever due to their strong foundations of partnership and common values.”
