The Finance Ministry declared Wednesday that one of the largestsmuggling attempts at Beirut International Airport was thwarted by the airport customs on midnight at the arrivals hall.
31 kilograms of cocaine packed in nylon bags inside two suitcases, 5 packets of red powder and 24 packs of white powder smuggled by Lebanese citizen A. A., coming from Brazil via Abu Dhabi.
The smuggler was arrested and the items were confiscated upon the order of the Public Prosecution in Mount Lebanon.
