Union Coordination Committee carried out Tuesday a sit-in outside the Education Ministry in Beirut's UNESCO area to call for including the salary scale in the agenda of the upcoming parliamentary session, among other demands.
The protesters accused the political class of "dishonesty and deceiving people by alleging that the new pay scale would lead to the collapse of the state."
Several schools across Lebanon shut their doors to abide by the UCC's call for strike, particularly public schools.
