The Military Court adjourned Tuesday the trial of notorious Salafist Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir to July 12.
During the session, Assir said that “some sides are tormenting him by undermining his health in order to kill him slowly."
Assir is a radical anti-Hezbollah preacher who led clashes against the Lebanese Army in June 2013 in south Lebanon’s Abra.
The clashes resulted in the deaths of 19 Army soldiers and at least 40 of combatants fighting for Assir.
He was arrested by the Lebanese authorities last August at the Beirut Airport after being on the run for over two years.
