Future bloc: The main issue should be the election of a new president

The Future bloc said on Tuesday that the main issue should be the election of a new president, voicing hopes that joint parliamentary committees would agree on an electoral law that garners the majority's support.

The bloc’s comments were made following its weekly meeting whereby it reiterated its stance over the necessity to hold the municipal elections in order to activate the development across various Lebanese regions amid the ongoing presidential vacuum.

As for the 11th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Syrian army from Lebanon, the bloc’s MPs stressed that such an anniversary must be a reminder of the sacrifices of the Lebanese people and the martyrs in order to unite the whole country.
