LF media official Riachi to LBCI: LF-FPM reconciliation imposed itself on political, national scene

Lebanese Forces media official Melhem Riachi said on Wednesday that the reconciliation between the Lebanese Forces and the Free Patriotic Movement imposed itself on the national and political scene in the country, adding that such reconciliation does not aim to abandon other allies.

Riachi’s comments were made during an interview with Nharkom Said TV Show whereby he noted that LF leader Samir Geagea’s support to the candidacy of Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun is not a form of conspiracy against anyone.

 

Lebanon has been plunged into a presidential vacuum since May 2014 when the mandate of President Michel Sleiman ended without the election of a successor.

 

Deep disputes between rival political parties have thwarted the polls.
