REPORT: Hariri meets with Turkey’s Erdogan in Istanbul

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri held talks Friday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Yildiz Palace in Istanbul, where they discussed the latest developments in the region and the bilateral relations between both countries.

Following his meeting with Erdogan, Hariri said that the talks featured high on Lebanon's presidential vacuum, the negative repercussions of the Iranian intervention in the region and the need to help Beirut to tackle the refugee crisis.

Hariri had traveled to Turkey late Thursday night.

He is accompanied by former Minister Bassem Sabeh and his advisor Ghattas Khoury, the statement added.
