Foreign Affairs Minister Gebran Bassil said Tuesday that each foreign policy should be based on principles that garner the consensus of the major components in the nation.
During a conference on effective diplomacy, Bassil noted that “the national consensus regarding the foreign policy is influenced by other foreign policies.”
“Lebanon should adopt an independent foreign policy. It is best for it,” Bassil stated.
On another note, he clarified that the foreign ministry will launch a workshop that motivates the foreigners of Lebanese origin to restore their citizenship in accordance with the new law.
