Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed Friday that the political parties form a part of the civil society, adding that their participation in the municipal elections will reduce losses amid the current circumstances.
In a televised speech, Sayyed Nasrallah said calling for leaving the choice for families in the electoral process is a “wrong approach.”
In the same context, he noted that the municipality is a form of administration and governance, stating that should the parties ignore the municipal elections, they would have abandoned a major part of their duties as political parties.
Nasrallah added that “everyone should be concerned in the issue of the elections in all the regions,” stressing that running for elections and casting votes are essential and important.
Commenting on the presidential issue, the Hezbollah chief said that there are no new developments in this regard, urging all those concerned with this issue to hold discussions in order to reach an agreement leading to a solution for the current deadlock.
On the regional level, Sayyed Nasrallah revealed that Saudi Arabia has been threatening other countries to halt all assistance in a bid to control their political positions.
He also accused Saudi Arabia of supporting all escalatory movements on the ground in Syria and Yemen, describing the kingdom as the spearhead of the project against the region.
