REPORT: Beirut governor approves request to ban sale of public beach property

Beirut Governor Judge Ziad Chebib approved Wednesday Public Works and Transportation Minister Ghazi Zeaiter’s request to prevent the sale of a section of Ramlet al-Baida beach that was in danger of being fenced off from the public by private developers.

Chebib asked Zeaiter to swiftly take the initiative to determine the boundaries of the aforementioned public properties according to Order 144, issued in 1925.
