Family of the detained Former Minister Hassan Yaacoub continued to block the airport road on Thursday.
The demonstration started on Wednesday, where his mother headed a march of female protesters who blocked the airport road demanding Yaacoubs' release.
The protesters installed tents outside the Higher Islamic Shiite Council and blocked the way.
Last month, Investigative Judge Peter Germanos rejected a request from Yaacoub’s defense team to release him.
He was arrested in December over his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of Hannibal Gaddafi, son of late Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi.
Yaacoub's father was accompanying Imam Moussa al-Sadr and another man when they disappeared in Libya in 1978.
Yaacoub was admitted to hospital several times since his incarceration due to deterioration in his health condition. His family has claimed that the former lawmaker was being subjected to mistreatment at Roumieh Prison.
