REPORT: Despite low odds, political writer runs for municipal elections in Machghara

Even though a candidate list which consists of 18 candidates from Hezbollah, Amal Movement, Free Patriotic movement, Syrian Social Nationalist Party and Kataeb Party was announced in the Lebanese town of Machghara in Lebanon’s Bekaa, the political writer Nasri Sayegh decided to take part in the elections despite his low odds of winning.

Sayegh formed an incomplete list which consists of 15 candidates only.

“The municipal elections must not be dragged out of its place” he said.
