The polls across the governorate of Mount Lebanon are set to open in less than 24 hours, with political battle dominating over the elections. Jounieh, the capital of Kesserwan, is witnessing a heated battle as the electoral machines turned into beehives.
For his part, head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun regretted that the electoral race in Jounieh has turned into a “war of money,” stressing that the dignity of Jounieh’s residents cannot be sold.
After inspecting the electoral headquarter of “Karamat Jounieh” (Jounieh’s dignity) list in Sahel Alma, Aoun said that the electoral race has gone beyond its local concept and took a political aspect.
“We have to ask about the origin of the money being spent and the goals of its spenders,” he added.
