Cabinet convenes at Grand Serail
A Cabinet session was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tammam Salam at the Grand Serail.
 
The cabinet agreed to "make the ​needed contacts" and "demand clarifications over UN chief Ban Ki-moon's remarks on the naturalization of refugees.​"
 
It also agreed to decide on the Tele Liban during the next session.
 
Prior to the session, Minister of Economy Alain Hakim said that he supports the stance of Minister of Foreign Affairs Gebran Bassil in refusing the naturalizing of displaced people.
 
In turn, Minister of Labor Sejaan Azzi that no foreign official “dared since 1948 to suggest the naturalizing the Palestinian refugees.”
 
“How could Ban Ki-moon mention the naturalization of Syrians seven times in a 26-page report,” he added.
 
Meanwhile, Minister of Industry Hussein Hajj Hassan said that the US sanctions imposed on Hezbollah will be discussed during the session.
 
For his part, Minister of Education Elias Bou Saab said that the case of the Lebanese University employees, who passed the test to fill the vacant positions at the institution, will be submitted for discussion during the session.
 
This as Minister of Environment Mohammad Machnouq said that he will not accept the resumption of works in the Janna dam before the cabinet issues a decision in this regard.
