Elections raise tensions in Akkar’s Rahbe
A tensed atmosphere prevailed on Sunday over Akkar’s Rahbe after a dispute erupted between the heads of two competing lists.

The voting was resumed in the polling station after being shortly halted.

Earlier, a personal dispute also occurred on the background of the municipal election in the town of Bourj al-Arab.

The dispute was accompanied with a shooting and the security apparatuses intervened and contained the situation.

This as the Minister of Interior denied later on that a shooting took place in Bourj al-Arab.

On another note, an extremely high turnout has been witnessed in Bakhaoun female polling station, which resulted in the temporary closure of the station to ease the stampede and pushing.

Security apparatuses worked on re-organizing the electoral process, and the female polling station was reopened.

This as a dispute erupted in Qobayat after MP Hadi Hobeishe cast his vote, when one of the electors publicly showed the list which he intends to vote for.

Also, the operations room in the Ministry of Interior denied reports stating that an official in former Minister Faysal Karami's office was injured in a shooting in Tripoli.
