Frangieh says he does not have problem with Hariri backing Aoun for presidency

Zgharta witnessed on Sunday a competition between an electoral list formed of families and another one backed by the Marada Movement and the head of the Independence Movement Michel Moawad.

After casting his vote, Marada Movement leader MP Sleiman Frangieh said that agreement that took place with Moawad serves the interest of Zgharta.

On another note, Sleiman said that he had spoken with Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri one day earlier.

"If Hariri decided he wanted to back Aoun for the presidency, I wouldn't have a problem with that," Frangieh told reporters from Zgharta during the municipal elections in the area.

 

For his part, Moawad said that the conciliation in Zgharta “led to two achievements, the first is political amid the turmoil in the region and the second is on the development level in Zgharta.”
