Resigned Justice Minister Achraf Rifi announced Sunday that the primary results according to the electoral list’s machines showed that his list won the municipal elections in Lebanon’s Tripoli.
For his part Head of Future bloc Saad Hariri congratulated the winners in the municipal elections specifying Tripoli.
Hariri noted his respect to the democratic willpower of the people of Tripoli, saying “I call upon the people of Tripoli to ease up the elected council’s mission”.
“Tripoli deserves all our support and effort, no matter what the circumstances are, “he added.
Four electoral lists competed in the northern city of Tripoli during Sunday’s municipal polls whereby the list formed by the Future Movement and former Prime Minister Najib Mikati competed against the list of Rifi.
