Army Commander General Jean Kahwaji hailed Monday efforts that were exerted by all those who contributed to safeguarding the security of the municipal and mokhtar elections.
"Their keenness on accomplishing this national duty, in accordance with strict security standards, has proven once more the firm decision of the military institution and security apparatus to protect freedom, stability and democracy within the nation," Kahwaji said during a meeting held in Yarze to assess the security measures that were carried out during the polls.
On another note, the general stressed the need to protect the borders and foil all terrorist attempts that aim at harming Lebanon’s stability, especially amid the exceptional circumstances, through which the region is passing.
